My baby turns 2 today! 

No, I’m not a real mother as yet, but 2 years ago today, I gave birth to something that was living inside me for so long, something that I nurtured, cared for, developed and carried with every fiber of my being.

My MiniSkirts and Microphones website is celebrating its second birthday today and I am super excited!

This is the place where I spill the beans, get real, share my passions and stories with you. Through 115 blog posts of my travels, run ins with everyday life, career moves and fashion and beauty finds, you, my readers, have gotten a bird’s eye view of just about everything that I’ve gone through, dealt with or thought of over the past 2 years.

MiniSkirts and Microphones is no holds barred and real, just like me!

I remember sitting in a local restaurant with my boyfriend and me complaining to him how my job at the time was boxing me in and stifling my creativity. He then suggested developing a blog where I could flex my creative muscles and write when I wanted, how I wanted and about what I wanted. Then I remembered that I had in fact started a blog several years back but never really paid much attention to it. It was tacky, outdated, ugly and just not well kept. That’s when he went into beast mode and got me a new domain, designed the site and got me going. We kept the name MiniSkirts and Microphones because it truly reflects my personality; the fashionista reporter that I am!

We went live on June 10, 2014 and since then I’ve been blogging my life away! So many great things have come from this vessel through which I express myself that have changed my life for the better.

Blogging has opened so many doors for me and has allowed me to meet people I probably would’ve never known; I quit my job (I wrote about that here) and became a full time blogger and freelance journalist, I’ve expanded my network and my net worth, I’ve partnered with brands locally and internationally, I’ve written the articles that matter to me (and you) and I am living my truth!

I really wish you guys could get a behind the scenes look at what really goes into running a blog; for some it’s a hobby, but for a writer like me this is work! It’s just like a job where you have to plan, set deadlines, there are good days, bad days, days where you’re excited to show up and others where you just want to stay in bed.

This website has been just what I needed all these years to tap into hearts and minds the way I’ve always wanted through my writing.

So heading into year 3 (OMG!) I’d love to know how best we can grow together. I want to connect more with you, I want us be on the same page and slay! It’s been your comments, your shares, your likes, your overall engagement on this website that have given me the juice to continue writing. So, here are my questions for you:
