February’s Favorite Festival for the Fashionista!
Mar 1, 2016
I had such a blast this past weekend at Festival Rum Bahamas! I danced, I partied, I ate amazing food, I got dressed up and of course I drank some good ole rum!!!! I missed the relatively new, but oh so popular event last year due to travel, so I knew I had to be in formation for this year’s event!
The festival, which slingshots us back into our rum running days started on Friday Feb. 26 and brought out the pirates, mermaids, contortionists, food, junkanoo, sugar canes, people, music and fun! I missed Friday’s kickoff, but your girl was present and accounted for on Saturday and Sunday! I fueled up on the house special drink The Dirty Mule and got my freak on!
A good pair of heels always saves the day!

It was a tad breezy this day so I took one of my favorite basic pieces, a mango colored tank dress and paired it with a long sleeve floral top and camel gladiator sandals. It wasn’t my intention to wear heels this day but…oh well! I feasted on the most delicious rum glazed duck, deep fried shrimp and chicken in a waffle cone!

Color blocking is so much fun!

After day 1 at the amazing festival, I was so amped and excited for the last and final leg of partying and eating to my heart’s content! The weather had warmed a bit which was perfect for my Sunday attire! I paired a bright pink crop top with a plunging V with a pair of cherry red wide leg pants, which I scored for $20!!!! I completed the look with my very festive and very island chic coconut purse! With curry mutton, more Dirty Mule and the best fried chicken wings in my system I was good to go!
