I remember it like it was yesterday. I was sitting in a meeting at a local restaurant early last year when an email notification popped up. The subject line read, “Barbados?” and the sender field read “Danny Rivers-Mitchell.”

I instantly knew who that was and before even opening the email, I got super excited! I’d been following Danny and her business for a very long time and knew that her Black Girls Travel Too empire was a leader in the travel blogging industry…and now she was sending me an email! The note was an invitation to join Danny and eight other travel influencers to the island for the first ever all-female Black Travel influencer press trip.

In the weeks leading up to the trip and even now, weeks after the trip, Danny and I have stayed in close contact, sharing our dreams and goals and just shooting the breeze.
