Honestly, Houston wasn’t really that high up on the list of places to see. Nothing against it, but even though Queen Bee hails from H-Town, I just wasn’t ansty to touchdown. So when my husband randomly said we were headed to Houston for our annual NYE trip, I had no clue what to expect.

I was surprised by the insanely cold 43 degree weather, the (much welcomed) slow paced and laid back mood of the people and the unbelievably, incredible, delicious, succulent, mouthwatering food scene there!

Bruh!

After the first restaurant I was sold and I immediately knew I would be eating my face off on this trip. There was no question about it either, if I was going to write a blog about Houston, it was gonna be dedicated to the food!

I quickly took to my Instagram account to ask my tribe for more recommendations on where we should dine and they came through with the spots!

From The Breakfust Klub to Pappadeaux’s, Gatlin’s BBQ and Killens STQ, Blanco, Ra Sushi and so many more…we literally ate our way through the city! We Ubered our way around too, and in talking to our drivers we learned that Houston is the most ethnically diverse city in America and it was obvious as we moved around.

We whizzed by restaurants from Morocco and Brazil, countries throughout the Caribbean, Israel and so many others proving that you could get some ackee and cod fish from Jamaica on one corner and some tangine from Marrakech on the next.

I even came across this article that noted, “residents in Houston eat out more times a week than in any other city in America!” And I could see why! There are so many good food options, if I lived there, I’d probably trade my stove in for a second fridge to store my doggie bags full of leftovers from these restaurants.

In between the digestion and the ‘itis, we also hit up a few fun spots in Houston like the Museum of Natural Sciences, The Cockerell Butterfly Garden, the Holocaust Museum and Escape Room Houston!
