There are two festivals I look forward to attending each year: Festival Rum Bahamas every February and The International Cultural Wine and Food Fest, affectionately called “Food Fest.

This weekend it was all about Food Fest!

After getting rained out last year and in the wake of Hurricane Matthew sweeping through earlier this month, I think this is exactly what Bahamians needed to get back to normal. It was the dose of Bahamian life we all needed to be re-injected as we bounce back from that silly storm that left us without power for weeks, battered our homes and businesses and just shook us to the core!

Food Fest ’16  was uber crowded, brimming over with fun and was an all around good time! The event each year is sprawled over two days (Saturday and Sunday) and brings the melting pot of cultures in The Bahamas center stage for the weekend. Foods, drinks, sweets and other buys from all around the world are up for grabs. As I do each year I attend, I enjoyed the festivities with friends and family and debuted a new hairstyle (blog coming soon)!

Day 1 – Loc’d and Loaded

Change it up, because variety is the spice of life!

I love when a simple outfit makes a presence! I was still getting used to my new hair, these faux locs I’m trying for a while. So with their big presence, I opted for a minimal look: my fave short jeans, a black bralette, my metallic silver sneaks and topped the look with this very fall long trench vest!

Jeans || Levis

Vest || Shop The CC (Bahamas)

Tennis || H&M

Day 2 – African Pride

Stay in touch with your roots

I couldn’t wait to wear this little ankara print romper I copped on my trip to Rio! I found the cutest little Afro store in Santa Teresa and bought a few pieces. I neglected to take a photo of the back which has two ties, one at the neck and the other at mid-back. I simply paired it with my nude striped espadrilles and hit the party!

Romper || Bao Brasil

Shoes || Tommy Hilfiger (DSW)
