There are two things most women love about a man; when he’s immaculately dressed and when he smells so good, he’s damn near irresistible!

I don’t know what it is about a man that smells of strength, confidence and protection, that gets a woman’s juices flowing, but dang…a good bottle of cologne, properly applied, will set a woman’s olfactory senses off!

Daddy’s Scents are Forever

I vividly remember days of me being a little girl and waiting for my daddy to get home. Before I saw him, I smelled him. That fragrance he wore religiously was Le Male Eau de Toilette for Men by Jean Paul Gaultier. And I absolutely loved the bottle it came in…check this out! 🙂

It was so infectious, so strong but gentle at the same time…it was comforting. Whether he had a bad day or a good day, I couldn’t tell, because the scent emanating from him reeked of masculinity and power. My uncle would sometimes wear the same fragrance, but I could easily tell the difference between who was walking through the door. Scent is so powerful.

Over the years, I’ve learned that men’s cologne, while keeping a brisk aroma, is masked in hints of femininity…which is why I love wearing it!

YES!!!! Women can wear men’s cologne!

Sometimes when bae’s not around and you’re longing for his scent, splash on some of his your favorite fragrance and go take on the world! Sneak into your dad’s room and steal his cologne! Your brother’s not home? GO FOR IT!

Channel Your Inner Bad-Ass

For me, wearing men’s colognes adds so much personality and punch to your day…and a girly outfit! While spritzes of coconut, strawberry and pear are nice, aromas of wood, spices and the ocean appeal to both men and women…for all the right reasons, and for me, boosts the level of self-confidence and esteem. I could sit in a boardroom full of men and feel right at home, or I could walk into my favorite nail salon and subtly standout.

For me, men’s fragrances have a more sleek, clean aroma than some scents made for women, I feel like such a badass going against the grain and channeling my inner dude, all while rocking a pair of heels.

If you’re gonna go there with trying out men’s fragrances, don’t go for colognes with extreme masculine scents like leather and tobacco. Also to ease into the new scents, try layering them under your girly fragrances until you get used!

Here are my Picks!

I’ve fallen in love with my dad’s Lacoste Elegance Cologne — I love the clean, fresh, just out of the shower scent it gives off. It’s not overpowering at all and goes perfectly from day to night. This fragrance has notes of tangerine, thyme, mint, juniper, black pepper, nutmeg, cardamom, raspberry, sandalwood, amber, musk, and bitter chocolate.

Antonio Banderas: The Secret is ahhhmazing — At first I wasn’t so sure, but after the first try I fell in love! It comes off as a real man’s cologne at first due to its heavy aroma, but after letting the fragrance seep into your pores for a few minutes, it reveals the most delicate scent. It reminds me of a frozen rose, hard but still so soft! A great mix of mint, grapefruit, cinnamon, pepper, apple liqueur accord, tonka bean, woods and musk.

I was first introduced to Paco Rabanne 1 Million about three years ago — Aside from the boss-like gold bar packaging, this cologne packs punch! It could just be me, but it’s as if this fragrance changes scents throughout the day…in a good way! From crisp and clean to woody and adventurous it runs the gamut of every scent you’ve ever loved on a man! Think grapefruit, rose, cinnamon, spice notes, mint, blood orange, blond leather, white woods, amber and patchouli.

Do you wear men’s colognes? Would you consider it?
