I wasn’t surprised that he did it; the “when and where” are what got me! 

Going back to Barcelona was always on the agenda. The beautiful and whimsical destination stole both of our hearts during our first visit in 2015. While we fell in love with the city, we were simultaneously falling harder for each other. 

Barcelona does that, though.

Its architecture, mood and vibe whisper sweet nothings in your ear and silently seduces you. It’s an authentically romantic location that flings you in the middle of your very own fairy tale.

My fairy tale played out at one of the city’s most iconic landmarks in front of dozens of locals, tourists and romance-seekers who are now characters in a story I’ll read to anyone willing to listen. It’s a tale I wont soon forget.

We’re Engaged!

New Year’s Eve 2017 we got engaged under the Arc de Troimf; one of Barcelona’s most beautiful, elaborate and historical structures.

I was told we were going to shoot a segment for work. After all, our first trip here was for work and being the workaholics we both are, it didn’t come as a surprise that I had to put on my TV host hat for a few seconds.

I didn’t question it and was just game to shoot, get ready for our New Year’s Eve party later that night and keep it moving.

Little did I know, though, my title was getting ready to move from girlfriend/partner/friend-of-12 years, to fiance’!

Watch for yourself! 

The entire trip, leading up to that special moment, I just had a feeling. I couldn’t quite place it, but it was very present. Even on the drive over, my stomach sank, and I kept asking myself if this “segment we had to shoot” was real. I brushed off the thought, not wanting to get too excited.

Honestly, there have been many special moments in our relationship where I thought he was gonna pop the question and he didn’t…LOL!!!! We travel so much and do so many dope things, my Spide-y senses were always tingling.

But my feelings were spot on this time around, we were in Barcelona again, our favorite city, and from the moment we landed I felt the love!

I certainly wasn’t expecting the little crowd that gathered and wanted selfies with us! LOL! I had no clue that this was a thing and the next time I witness a proposal, I’m demanding my selfie with the happy couple!

I would love to know how those selfies we posed for came out, ugh!

The proposal was true to us and who we are as boyfriend and girlfriend fiance’s; it was quiet, reserved, not showy but caught everyone’s attention.

After we got engaged, it was definitely time to party! We headed out to Shoko Nightclub to ring in the new year!
