My first wedding dress shopping experience was a complete culture shock!

White, off white, ivory, cream, shell (I never knew that was a color), blush; ball gown, mermaid, A-line, sweetheart cut, sleeves, no sleeves?

Cathedral veil or nah? Lace, pearls, chiffon? Sparkly, flat; with a train or without?!

Wedding dress shopping should be an Olympic sport!

I’m getting married soon and I recently went wedding dress shopping! The thing is, I wasn’t at a complete lost because I’d already been style shopping on Instagram and knew the look I wanted.  The hard part was finding something that lived up to the image I had in my mind.

I’m an avvid shopper! I could literally stay in a mall for hours on end picking up amazing pieces and putting together some bomb looks! But I quickly found that wedding dress shopping is a whole other ball game that requires intense focus, asks a lot of questions and…is a very emotional experience!

It was a fun-filled weekend. My family and I headed to Miami, Florida with one mission in mind: come back with a wedding dress! But I’m a picky shopper and a non-traditional bride! Well, traditional in some sense, but when it comes to my dress I’m going for drama, different, but still classic, unique, va-va-voom and something that just suits my personality.

I remember telling one of the ladies in a store…

I wanna see all the dresses your other brides hate…I just might love it!

I tried on about 15 dresses during the trip but none of them gave me that, “say yes to the dress” moment! I didn’t get the butterflies nor the tears I’ve heard people talk about and yes, I came back home empty handed!  Maybe it’s because I’m already dead set on this image I have in my mind and nothing will live up to it.

I did try on a dress that was a close maybe, though. It was beautiful, had many of the elements I want in my wedding dress, but it didn’t bring it all the way home!

At least the champagne was good!

I documented this amazing journey for you to see! Check out the YouTube video below and tell me if I should’ve chosen one of these dresses! Be sure to subscribe to my channel as I’ll be posting more videos about planning for the big day!

Let’s go wedding dress shopping!
