What a start!

This month has been so sweet and it’s only the fourth day! I seriously feel like I’ve been going since the year started. From that big trip to Thailand, to several smaller ones to Exuma and Miami, working on what feels like a million projects at once from hosting TV shows, writing for a few local magazines, trying to resuscitate my YouTube page, finally get my mailing list going, being brand ambassador and social media manager for Black Opal Bahamas and trying to keep up with life! WHEW!

I can’t believe it’s already May and that means it’s time to list this month’s must have lifestyle, beauty and travel items!

My May needs are…SUPER DOPE! 

Essence Magazine, May 2017! 

For years I’ve flipped through the pages of Essence Magazine and got my entire life! As a young woman of color, Essence has always been my go to for health, beauty, fashion, money and relationship advice. The bold, colorful presentation, down to earth tone and the way the writers specifically target my needs, in a world that would love to leave me out, is super cool! This month when I flipped through the pages and saw my face, my photo, my name in black in white in my fave publication was such a great feeling!!!!! I’m literally doing (mental) backflips as I soak in the experience! I picked up three copies of the mag just for my collection! Now, I’m off to find the perfect frame to mount this magazine in! 🙂

Speaking of YouTube! My Channel is up and running! 

FINALLY! I’ve been trying to get serious about my YouTube channel for so long, but life, procrastination and laziness wanted to rule the day. I actually shot and edited two videos several months ago, but never posted them because they weren’t “perfect.” I wanted a specific, look and feel, a manicured set, certain colors, carefully selected decor, blah, blah, blah! WHAT AN IDIOT! One day, with some pushing from my little brother who is also a new vlogger, I uploaded and hit publish on my first video, and just like that, I went from blogger to vlogger and it feels so good to finally do something I’ve been wanting to do! I plan to use my YouTube channel to bring some life to my written blogs. Visuals are everything these days, so I plan on giving you all the neck rolling, eye rolling, laughing and sometimes crying that go on behind the scenes of writing my blogs! So…

Who wears short, shorts?! 

It’s one of my favorite times of the year; on the cusp of spring and summer, where the weather is nice and balmy, hot and sunny! One of my fave clothing items to wear around this time are of course short pants! I recently took a quick trip to Miami and came back with a gang of leg baring beauties! Places like Old Navy and J. Crew had some really colorful and bright options! I got like 5 pairs! With some neatly waxed legs and some high heels, tennis or espadrilles, my summer outfits are set and ready to go!

I cannot wait to get my hands on a tube of this black clay mask that everyone is going wild for. I love me a good exfoliator, especially one that digs deeper than usual and removes dirt, impurities, those pesky black and whiteheads and gives your face a good clean! There are so many different brands and kinds to try but I’m just anxious to get my hands on one! I’ll let you know how it goes!
