There’s nothing more crisp and clean than a nice button down! Paired with jeans, shorts or slacks; for work, play or date night, the button down is definitely a closet staple and fave of mine!

But let’s be honest, these pieces could quickly get boring and mundane and slip farther back in the closet, becoming forgettable real quick! Well chile!!!! Let me tell you, I’ve come across some fancy schmancy, new button downs that bring all the drama and totally revamps the regular button down!

The ReWorked Shirt 

It wasn’t until I was in Thailand that I kept seeing these elaborate tops! Long, flowy, structured, asymmetrical, different colors, many styles and shapes. On the last day of my trip, I decided to stop at a store and get two of them, at the time I didn’t know how or where I’d wear them, but I knew they were special. Weeks later I’m browsing through the May 2017 Essence magazine (in which I am featured :)) and reworked shirts are trending!

 I love the familiar feel of these tops and live for the extra-ness of the trail, bows and cuts. I copped this blue short sleeved one with an empire waist and ties at the back. I paired it with my short jeans and some camel colored mules!

The peach long sleeved one is so dope! It has the appeal of a regular button down, but quickly gives you life with the draping effect at the back. Paired with shorts, a skirt or something tight, this shirt is heaven! On this day I paired it with some long ripped jeans and my lucite sling backs.

These shirts are so fun and sassy add all the drama you need in your outfit! For those “I have nothing to wear” days, these will definitely come in handy!
